NATURALIZATION CEREMONIES
Several times a year Dames participate in the Naturalization Ceremonies welcoming new Americans to Citizenship explaining the historical significance of the NSCDA and presenting each one with a flag pin and a copy of the BILL of RIGHTS. This is a 45 -60 minute ceremony depending on the number of new citizens to be sworn in.

Historical Activities
The National Historical Activities Committee works in the fields of research, preservation, restoration and education, according to the Objects of the Society as set forth in Article II of the NSCDA Constitution. The Corporate Societies across the United States use the guidelines and five national sponsored projects as a starting place and then, depending upon the interest of the membership, chose specific projects or programs.
NSCDA-KY has such as enjoyed trips to historic sites, cleaning cemetery stones of the Brown family in the Frankfort Cemetery, hosting book groups in Louisville and Lexington, transcription of letters in the Liberty Hall collections, and other projects throughout the years. We work to preserve the past and educate the public as well as our members.
We are Entrusted With History’s Future!

NSCDA-KY Kentucky Culture Symposium
Kentucky Backdrops- August 9, 2025
exploring Kentucky's scenic gardens,
grounds & architecture
The NSCDA-KY is pleased to offer the fifth Kentucky Culture Symposium at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg.
The Kentucky Culture Symposium is one of our most valuable and important programs. It brings together national scholars and experts on the historic material culture of Kentucky and its impact on Kentucky culture today. Each year, we forge new connections with the people of Kentucky as we advance the body of knowledge in a way that is tangible and meaningful for all. The Kentucky Culture Symposium is tailored for Kentuckians, museum professionals, dealers, auctioneers, collectors, historians and enthusiasts.
This will be a full day of learning and includes not only four brilliant speakers, but also coffee hour, and lunch before concluding the day with book signings and sales. The annual Kentucky Culture Symposium is held in a different city each year, so a big thank you to the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill for hosting us this year.
